East Quogue, NY

These Manhattan residents wanted to complete their suburban retreat with an outdoor paradise for relaxing and partying. Typically, a home owner would go to their landscaper or landscape architect. However, the thought came to them that the architect who designed there home would be the perfect person to complete the job.

The waterfront property lent itself to an extended pool deck with all the bells and whistles. The combination of Mahogany and Limestone was influenced by the British West Indies, giving the space a uniquely island feeling. The custom trellis was introduced to frame the beautiful view and give salvation from the summer eastern sun.

The clients wanted an abundance of comfortable seating, including two king sized beds, an over sized Jacuzzi, a custom bar and built in Bar B Que. The house has wrap around porches on the whole lower level, which accesses a dramatic winding stair that leads down to their new retreat/pool area. The Hampton Bay acts as the backdrop for the pool and cool ocean breezes come from the front of the house, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the sand.

The days and nights in the Hamptons blend in to one simultaneous experience. This fabulous retreat serves to enhance that experience and give the clients and their guests a taste of a sophisticated New York lifestyle.
